NameDate

Open the Seasons Simulator at initial.app/seasons. Use it to answer these.

1. Choose New York. Write the daylight and the Sun's noon height for June 21 and for December 21.
2. Now choose Sydney. What is different about the same two dates?
3. Find the day Earth is closest to the Sun, and its distance. What season is it in New York?
4. Use your answer to explain why distance from the Sun does not cause the seasons.
5. Choose No tilt and play the year. What happens to the seasons? Why?
6. Choose your own latitude. On which date is the Sun highest? How high does it get?
